Will the TSLA rally continue? Will SPY continue its sell off after unemployment data today? Trade ideas for Friday Sept 06, 2024

Good morning traders!
What a day yesterday! We nailed TSLA long although I wasn’t able to alert my entry as early as I would have liked and didn’t get much of a dip for a great entry. However we nailed the exits on our longs.
We then were patient and waited and nailed the short on SPY/SPX twice. The first gave me over 10R and the second gave us 10x while some members were able to secure 15-20x!
Overnight the market hit my 545-546 goal for this leg down and bounced back to 550 after unemployment data.
Today the market I will be eyeing for market reaction with volume at key levels. Given the action yesterday and premarket, I think today could be very choppy with some range as bulls and bears fight it out. Going into the report I'd say there was a heavy short bias, so I’ll also be on the lookout for a short squeeze.
Let’s review the trades from yesterday and then go over ideas for today.

Trade Recap for Thursday Sep 05
SPY / SPX
Here is the logic and the trades we did yesterday!
The reload short at around 11am I switched from 5520p to 5480p.
This created some nice gains in the morning and we dropped right to 547.80 level for a 2 level move! This is what we want day in day out. I’m not looking for monster gains every day. If I get a 2 level move that is mission accomplished for me. I’ll maybe leave 10-20% size for runners but I usually get stopped out at 5-8R on those.
The big trade I missed was during the 2pm consolidation. I placed an order per my plan for SPX 5480p at 0.50 when it was around 1 and I took a starter at 0.80. It then popped to 1-1.20 to get me an exit on 50% and on the 0.80 entry to make it a free trade. I then fell asleep and missed the faker pop into 551 for a golden opportunity to fill at 0.25. Congrats to THT PRO member Marcos who filled at 0.25!
Following process I had sell orders preset at 3 and 5 to give me 5x and 10x gains which both filled into the spike down.
I can’t stress enough how important with 0DTE options have your sell orders set in advance. Be happy with the gains vs trying to maximize gains. That change in mindset will pay off for years to come.
TSLA
Yesterday I was ultra bullish on TSLA and I wanted a 219 dip to get long, but instead we got a dip into 223 and quick reversal back over vwap and then over 226. That is a strong trend reversal signal and though I don’t like to open trades in first 15minutes, I knew that if 230 cleared we had a shot at 235 and 245 to come so I took the trade. We ended up getting over 5R on that trade given the strong trend!
Notice how 226 became support later in the date. great opportunity to take 250c next week as a swing!

Education - How to Join a Strong Trend
The process I typically follow for joining a strong trend are as follows:
All day grinder: join on dips to 20ma
Multi-day grinder:
Join either on support test of morning lows/failed breakdown reversal
Join at vwap mid day or end of day
Keep it simple. Don’t chase, wait for support levels for great risk/reward entries!
Education - Systematic Profit Taking
How do I take profits? I keep it relatively simple. Depending on the entry and range to the next levels I typically with take profits 50-100% of my profits at 3-10R and then raise stops to above entry with a goal of letting runners take me to the next level or 2 and to then reload if I believe we are consolidating before the next leg.
I then repeat the same process on the reload.
Let me know in the comments if you have questions or would like to see examples, I’ll share them.
Trade Ideas - Plan for Friday Sept 06
Stick to process. The process and trade setups I teach works. Rinse and repeat over and over again. There will be losses. Any good system will have them. Being systematic also means the gains will repeat and come again too. If you keep changing your system/process trying in an effort to never lose a trade, you will never get to where you want to go.
Ideas
Stick to process.
The big question on my bad is does the dip get bought or does relentless selling continue. I’ll probably look for a trade after 10am or 10:30am.
