Will $SPY break down today? Ideas for Tuesday July 2, 2024
How to deal with unexpected curveballs in life
Good morning traders!
As you know on of the risks when traveling is theft and one of the newer risks are phones with banking apps and everything interconnected. In a future blog, I’m going to write about how I will protect myself in the future but in the meantime, I’m spending a few hours a day on the phone with banks sorting through the mess.
How you deal with life’s curveballs is something I think trading has helped me with. Whatever loss I take, I know with some capital, I can recover. I’ve had dramatic losses and series of bad trades in my life. I’ve also come back from those events. That has prepared me for issues like the one that happened. There is no point fretting. The hardest thing right now is being patient for banks to do their thing and for me to get my replacement credit cards.
Suggestion, when bad things happen, don’t stress — make a checklist of what needs to be done and work the list. Make a list of what to do differently in the future and act accordingly. The same applies to your trading. If you have a bad trade, review it, dig into it. Sometimes the conclusion it simply was out of your control. The one thing you can almost always control is how much are you risking.
Off the soap box and lets get into making money. Yesterday the levels and ideas were pretty close. I was looking for SPY 453 to hold for a long. And we got that in the late morning. Finally in the afternoon I told THT-PRO members I was hawking SPX 4575c for the close. Those dipped to 0.50 and ripped to $5 in the last 15-30minutes of the day. Congrats to Marcos on his 0.55 fill!
This morning SPY broke 453. This opens the gate to more downside if it isn’t quickly reclaimed and bids show up.
Let’s review the trades from yesterday and then talk about the ideas for today.
If you're struggling, take some time to review past blog posts and learn the processes and core trade setups I use. Patience is key. Don't force yourself into a trade. Only enter trades at or near key levels with enough range to the next level to provide a great risk/reward opportunity.

Monday’s Price Action (Education)
You don't try to make $100,000 ...You don’t start by saying, I’m going to make the biggest most profitable trade and turn $1000 into $100,000 and fix all my bad trades before.
You say, I’m going to plan and execute 1 trade as perfectly as I can today. You do that every single day, and soon you'll have a $100,000 and likely much more!
Please note all times are Eastern/New York regardless of what time zone I happen to be in.
SPY / SPX
After seeing the early action I became short biased. One of my trade setups to join trend in to look for a vwap test at 10:30. That came and I took SPX 5440p.
This is a method 1 trade entry: Anticipation of the reversal. $4 entry with $1 stop. ran to 9. That is a 4R+ trade. A win in my book. Lock 80% in (because I was also looking for 543 to possibly turn into support and leave 20% in case shit show developed).
After seeing the double bottom and 543.40 reclaimed. One can use a method 2 trade entry to go long using SPX 5470. Entry would be 4.50 with a $3 stops. This ran to $9. for 100% gain or 3R trade! . Guys these are 2 solid base hit trades following the process and techniques I teach. You don’t even need to wait for the sells. You basically use Edge Trade Planner to plug in entry, stop, and the option contract and it will give you sell targets. You can then walk away for the day having spent less than 2 hours of your day!
Please review the options charts and the trade setups.
PS. I’m working on a Levels and Price Action Mastery Course. If you have charts you want me to include or are confused by send them to me! I would love your help getting examples of charts to that are confusing for you to read!
Trade Ideas - Plan for Tuesday July 2
Stick to process. The process and trade setups I teach works. Rinse and repeat over and over again. There will be losses. Any good system will have them. Being systematic also means the gains will repeat and come again too. If you keep changing your system/process trying in an effort to never lose a trade, you will never get to where you want to go.
Ideas
With SPY having broken 543 in premarket, there is a chance that support breaks on the daily and we get a flush before any more upside. Bull need to reclaim 544 imho.
