Trade ideas for Tuesday May 14
Credit selling can be a challenge, and this is where knowing your win rate is important and having a process to exit
Good morning traders!
I was done early yesterday. Just followed process and only got 2 3R+ trades and canceled my bull put trade because I was in pain and as a rule when not feeling well no trading. That said the analysis and planning on the bull put was spot on.
This morning Core PPI comes out, let’s see if market gets some trend after.
Let’s review yesterday’s trades and then go over the levels and ideas for today.

Monday’s Price Action (Education)
You don't try to make $100,000 ...You don’t start by saying, I’m going to make the biggest most profitable trade and turn $1000 into $100,000 and fix all my bad trades before.
You say, I’m going to plan and execute 1 trade as perfectly as I can today. You do that every single day, and soon you'll have a $100,000 and likely much more!
SPY / SPX
Yesterday’s action wasn’t a surprise, but it didn’t make for a setup that matched my desired trade ideas. Didn’t get 523.50 tested, and I didn’t believe we were going to 519.50 after vwap rejected after the first hour. As I wrote in yesterday’s blog I expected consolidation action and tight range and that is more or less what happened.
Based on my analysis at the end of the first two hours I predicted that doing a credit sell for SPX 5220/5215 bull puts for $2-2.50 would end profitably. These spiked to 2.90 during the lunch time dip and then ended the day at 0. I got a 2.50 fill but I had a bad pain in my leg and didn’t want to monitor for the day in case I was wrong. My only regret was I didn’t stick with the trade and trust the anaysis and numbers. — That is because when the mind/body is out of whack my default reaction is to exit trades regardless of probability of win. Jury is still out on this one being the right action or not on credit selling. Bottom line, I have over 85% win rate on credit sell trades. So in theory, by default, I should jut let it be.
TSLA
Per the plan / idea from the blog yesterday I had said look for a range break on TSLA at 175.50 and 170. TSLA at open ripped to 175.40. I was watching Edge’s Option Scanner and it showed a bunch of TSLA 170p and 165p bets being made.
So when I saw them buying at 2.20, I started hawking for an entry near 1.90 with a 1.70 stop. I shared the plan with sell targets of 2.6 and 2.9 and sure enough we got to 2.6 and missed 2.9 by a penny.
Trade Ideas - Plan for Monday May 13
Stick to process. The process and trade setups I teach works. Rinse and repeat over and over again. There will be losses. Any good system will have them. Being systematic also means the gains will repeat and come again too. If you keep changing your system/process trying in an effort to never lose a trade, you will never get to where you want to go.
Market is gapping up in premarket. I’ll again looking for some profit taking and consolidation today ahead of Core PPI tomorrow and Core CPI on Wednesday.
Remember we get inflation numbers today and tomorrow.
Ideas
Lets’ go over a few ideas. Remember I’m looking for 1-3 solid trades a day. Yesterday there were 2. Focus on planning and execution and the profits will come. This requires patience for the ideas to setup and the price action to validate.
I’ll watching for trend after first hour.
