Friday gave us a 2nd red day as we projected! What will this week bring? -- Trade ideas for Monday June 24, 2024
If you want 200-300% gainer trades! Read today's blog to learn how I planned those.
Good morning traders. Friday went perfectly. I got the 2 high probability trade setups I wanted, but I didn’t get the follow through to more lows to provide 20x payouts. And that is OK!
Getting 2 high probability trade wins is already a fantastic win and should be considered mission accomplished for your trading. Leaving runners for possible monster payouts is how we earn our bonuses while managing our risk!
In today’s blog I’ll review the logic for the 2 high probability trades and then talk about trade ideas for today.
Remember you only need 1 to 2 great trades, and on Friday we had over 4!

Friday’s Price Action (Education)
You don't try to make $100,000 ...You don’t start by saying, I’m going to make the biggest most profitable trade and turn $1000 into $100,000 and fix all my bad trades before.
You say, I’m going to plan and execute 1 trade as perfectly as I can today. You do that every single day, and soon you'll have a $100,000 and likely much more!
Please note all times are Eastern/New York regardless of what time zone I happen to be in.
SPY / SPX
In the comments on Friday’s blog I mentioned I was looking for gap down reversal and then a gap fill before the next leg down.
However with SPY we got an initial dip, but it didn’t get to my 542 target and only pushed to 545, missing 545.50 and filling the gap. As such there wasn’t a trade for me. Per my plan to wait the first hour I went to the gym at 8:45am and returned to my desk around 10:30 to see what was developing. I waited until noon to consider puts after the 545/opening level failed. Not a great trade setup, but a fair one. Overall with quad watching and the gap down, one has to be more patient and accept if there isn’t a great setup don’t take. I chose to focus my energy on NVDA and SMCI.
NVDA
We took puts on NVDA on Thursday and I had mentioned for swing I had 125 as a target in later afternoon. For the morning since I was away I had just my sell target orders in place on the 132p. T3 target of $6 was met from our 0.95 entry!
This swing trade gave me some patience.
Coming back after the first hour was great 2. We had a 2 level gap down into 125.50 and a double bottom. Perfect gap down reversal setup. I ended up chasing some 129 calls on vwap reclaim targeting 130-130.50 and took profits along the way and then flipped using 129p once 130 was rejected after 12pm. Guess what. 12pm was when the selling began in earnest on Thursday so I though they may do the same thing on Friday. We got a nice clean dump into the 10:30 (pink level) at 126. Not bad!
Here is the key for the long: double bottom and vwap reclaim. Target gap fill.
Here is the key for the short: gap fill and retet of Thursday support at 130. That is rejected. If you swing short your target for this week should be 2 levels down or 122. This morning we are gapping down.
SMCI
I’m super proud of my trade on this. We had a large one level drop right to the 875 level. We then got higher low/double bottom on 875 and then reclaim of vwap after 10:30. My target was 910-920. It ran perfectly to fill the gap at 917 for the final exit on the longs. Net result. SMCI 905c went from 4 to 12!
We then planned the short.
900p after initial rejection dipped 2.50 popped to 4 and then dipped again to 2.50 for the lower high. That was magic targeting and then ran to $10!!!
Ideas - Plan for Monday June 24
Stick to process. The process and trade setups I teach works. Rinse and repeat over and over again. There will be losses. Any good system will have them. Being systematic also means the gains will repeat and come again too. If you keep changing your system/process trying in an effort to never lose a trade, you will never get to where you want to go.
Ideas
We don’t typically get more than 2 red days in a row, but I’m keep my mind open to it. However I’m also hoping for a gap down reversal this morning to give us a green day. Like last week I plan to go to gym and come back after 10:30am. Why? most of my losses recently have come in first hour and the bigger payout trades have developed after 11am and after 2pm.
