Edge and Backend Update: Enhancements, Fixes, and Best Practices
Last night, I rolled out significant updates to Edge and its backend infrastructure. Here’s a breakdown of the key changes:
Major Improvements
Dip Buy Price Suggestions: Now available at 3R levels without requiring contracts to reach at least 3R to appear in the list. I’ve also refined the underlying calculations for greater accuracy.
High-Win-Rate Trades: Easier to identify the 80%+ win-rate opportunities, now including Credit Sell Trades.
Option Chart Enhancements: The chart now fully renders spreads for better visualization.
Dedicated Strategy Sections: Easily specify Bull Puts or Bear Calls tailored to your target.
Spectre AI Integration: Provides ongoing SPY and SPX analysis published throughout the day.
Bug Fixes and Minor Improvements
Back-in-Time Feature: No longer automatically jumps back 2 hours.
Gamma Exposure: Now updates reliably without interruptions.
GEX History: Accessible without needing a page refresh.
Option Chart Volume: Volume data is now properly rendered.
Known Limitations
Dip buy and sell price suggestions earlier in the day still require refinement. Premium estimation isn’t yet factored into dip buy prices, so this feature performs best for afternoon trades.
For morning trades, use the opening price and add 50-80% of it to the dip buy price as a manual adjustment. I’m continuing development and testing on my custom SPX 0DTE option pricing model to address this.
Maximizing Edge’s Potential
Edge is a specialized tool designed to handle the math and heavy lifting for SPY/SPX 0DTE trades—it streamlines processes but doesn’t replace your personal judgment. Always validate numbers, targets, and ideas yourself, as this is cutting-edge software where errors can occur. You’re ultimately responsible for your trades and hard-earned money.
Here’s my recommended workflow for using it effectively:
Review Spectre AI Analysis: Read the provided ideas for SPY and SPX. Assess whether you agree—it’s insightful but not infallible.
Generate or Select an Idea: Create a new one or pick from existing options.
Monitor Price Action: Use it to confirm your thesis before proceeding.
Evaluate Contracts: Browse the contract list, set up bracket orders, and step away.
Focus on Quality Over Quantity: Avoid micromanaging charts or candles. Prioritize the bigger picture with fewer, high-quality setups that resolve in 20-90 minutes, not the next 2.
Entry Tips
Fast-Moving Bull Trend: Wait for a pullback to the green line before going long.
Fast-Moving Bear Trend: Wait for a pullback to the red line before going short.
Slower, Broader Trends: Enter at the blue line or VWAP.
Cross-Check Pricing: Always verify contract pricing against the estimated sell price to ensure it aligns.
Leveraging the Planner
In chat, type commands like /plan b SPX 6850c 3 to create a plan for buying SPX 6850 calls at 3.
Customize your plan as needed for flexibility.
Final Advice
Don’t overtrade! Exercise patience and use Edge to pinpoint 1-3 strong, profitable setups per session.
