Notice the difference? The Naked position gave a 400% potential return but how do you know when/where to sell? If you missed the sell it eventually went to 0. I usually use a rule of 100%, 300% for exits and 10-20% as runners. The additional challenge is know the entry price. around 1.80-2

The credit sell once positioned, bled to 0 as high of day was established. One can start and based on experience and distance choose contract spread prices and strikes. I regularly alert to group the prices I would love to get filled at as well as starting prices.

Best part, essentially done in under 2 hours. Or 1 hour if you set an alert an waited for the High Probability trade idea level to come.

My primary paying trade Friday was bull puts after we did a morning dump, targeting that 773.60 level to be tested.

Yesterday the primary idea was for a day 2 red day and we got exactly that. I alerted bear calls twice with both going to zero.

The second one was for SPX 7620/25 bear calls for 1.80. imagine a $500-1000 risk for $1500-3600 gain with an 80% probability of win. That is how I look to plan my trades.

A member asked if it was too late to get in at 1.20 and I said yes it is. I don’t like the risk/reward. I expect to bounce and am waiting for 1.70+ for a reload which gives an appropriate risk/reward. That is what is so magic how we trade. We don’t have to be in the trade, we have to be in a trade with great risk/reward.

Yesterday the primary idea was for a short off of 779.50 level, but we triple topped at 776.50. Given the gap up, we then wait for vwap break after the first hour, up or down. We got a break of the morning lows after the first hour, then a back test of the break, this then led to a choppy grind down to fill the gap.

I alerted SPX 7650 bear calls and 7620 bull puts as the likely range we close within, which was right. we closed at 7623 after a sudden drop in last five minutes. prior to that both contracts had faded to near 0.

I use to get upset when I missed 10x+ moves. yesterday SPX 7700c went from 0.50 to $50+. That is 100x.

This would frustrate the hell out of me. Me the mature trader in me now doesn’t care. Why? Because how often does this happen? Was there any way for me to predict this? Was there a good risk/reward way to have entered and ride all day?

I recognized that it looked like an all day grind day, but without being able to accurately determine distance, I was unable to define risk/reward on naked contracts. In fact I tried 4 times to make a short only to get a small paper cut. nailed the entries, no follow through on downside as the dips got bought. That was probably my clue.

So I waited. Toward the end of the day AlphaOS indicated a SPX closing range of 7760 and 7735. so that made it easy to take SPX 7760 bear calls but I also had 7750 bear calls. thinking a flus sub 7745 may come. And we got just that.

Luckily I was able to flip side and caught the run to 7450!

I got distracted and in 10-15 minutes, market rejected yesterday, I missed the cheapie entry on 7400p and 7350p and watched those fly with out me.

I did scalped back in smaller size but what a miss!

I was hoping for a push into 752 to flip short, but that didn’t come. And So be it.

Overall 750 rejected and overnight turned it into a failed breakout over 749 level leading back to 740. We have been ping ponging between these levels for some time now. So the question is which direction do we break range and will it have follow through?

What a day!

Now full disclosure, I also tried some naked calls and puts to scalp and I got burned! This is why I shifted to credit selling for 90%+ of my trades! No headaches, easy money. I don’t have to watch screens all day and overtrade.

We likely get a massive short squeeze within next 2 week imho. Keep an eye out for it. Puts/Call ration are at the highest levels since 2010!

Given market weakness in past day, and the gap up, I wanted a gap fill before considering long, so when yesterday’s action saw a push on open over premarket high, followed by a double top on ORB 15 high, I alerted I was taking 7520 bear calls. Perfect plan! We caught the hod reversal.

Then we broke 746.37 per the high probability idea and flushed. I also perfectly alerted the lock in and was done for the day.
